12 ShelterBox Response Team members and volunteers are climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to mark the charity's 10th anniversary.
Sharon O'Keefe, Chris Donald, Mike Greenslade, Lizzy Treglown, Phil Duloy, Mark Eccles, Emily Eccles, Mark Dyer, Eric Dyer, Steve Blunsdon, Sean Jarvis, and Richard McSweeney are hoping to raise £10,000 on their way to the top of the world’s highest free standing mountain.
On 22nd July 2010 the group will fly to Tanzania to climb the challenging 7 day Kilimanjaro Machame Route.
Prior to the climb, they will also help renovate a local school and distribute some much needed supplies including pens, papers and classroom equipment for the children.
The team hopes to raise the profile of ShelterBox around the country and around the world.
A fundraising evening will be held on 15th May at Truro Rugby Club starting at 7pm including a charity auction and live music as well as food and beer. Tickets cost £5 and can be bought from team members or at the door.
